What we know about conflict of interest of data:
Governments collecting, storing, analyzing and using those data without consent of the subjects.
In access control there is a notion of conflict of interest in roles and permissions where two roles cannot be given to a user in some cases (e.g. Accounting and Purchase). In usage control, there can be situation where two person cannot use the same object or an object cannot be accessed in certain situation.
I am certain to some degree that data based on data itself or the source of the data, there can be conflicting data in usage or storage. I am trying to find use cases and scenarios where data can be conflicting. Can you please help me with your wisdom to develop some ideas towards this idea?

Home care and assisted living comes to mind. Often data de-anonymization is possible using techniques such as entity resolution and cross-referencing without the data producer being aware of.

Governments are not the only people who collect, store, analyze and use data without the consent of subjects. Most big ebusiness organisations have frequently been guilty of such practices. Often the process of granting of consent is less than fully transparent, meaning it is not often obvious what consent people have inadvertantly agreed to. Google, Amazon, eBay, Facebook and Twitter to name but a few would not be where they are today without having made great use of the data they have collected from cutomers over a great many years. Transparency will often follow, at least on some level, after some activism by dissatisfied customers willing to stand up for others.
SMART metering of utilities is a good example of conflict of interest regarding data collected. Utility providers often cite that the data collected is used to make distribution more efficient, you often do not baulk at using data mining techniques to elicit further information about their customers. Large supermarkets and other large retailers, have long used massive data warehouses to collect mass data which they can use to analyse how to make more money out of their customers, whilst simultaneously putting the squeeze on suppliers to improve their own cash flows and profits. What do you suppose loyalty cards are all about - free rewards for the customer, or full data analytics to extract as much information about customer spending habits? What about banks? They already hold masses of confidential data about their customers. Would you be surprised to discover they can use this data to work out which customers to target to sell expensive products to? Airlines, hotels, bus and train providers - all want to maximise their sales and want to know who best to target. Why do you suppose electronic payments have taken off so well? The list is extremely long indeed. For many industries, many of whom have been collecting data for years, but often with little idea of how to exploit it, they are only scratching the surface. Who knows what will happen once they all work out how to exploit the vast repositories of our data they already hold?
Now consider just how securely they are able to secure out data. Are you concerned? You should be. Why do you suppose cyber breaches reported in the media are so huge now? Once upon a time, if you were a spy, it took years to sneak out top secret material. Now, you don't even have to expose yourself to capture by even going into a building - you can do it all remotely.
And what about privacy? How many are able to secure your data properly encrypted? Are you worried yet? I know I am.

Thank you for your answer. It is true that people have been compromising their unnoticed data and hence their privacy. We can argue that in many cases it is because subjects are unaware of the situation and implications of their actions.
If we take a scenario where subject is aware and that data collector+consumer and/or data consumer are known. Is there a way to find if there is a Conflict of Interest (CoI) ? If yes, can you suggest me some real life scenarios where there is guarantee that CoI exists, not on the basis of power of authority but on the basis of functionality of entities.
