I think microalgae is the better option because micro algae is the waste product. It creates eutrophication in water. Waste to biodiesel is the allways better compare to all things (plant products, vegitables etc...)

Third Generation are by definition those obtained from Algae only.
The pro and cons are in many scientific papers and books related to this subject.
This is a under research and development path way for biodiesel production.

Yes,otherthan alge there are another option that you can be used. Bioethanol is a one way. However, considering the avilability and biodiesel yeild, alge is prefered over othars in my opinion.
Micro algae is a better option. However, you have to cultivate the correct species. Otherwise oil yield will be low.
