Agreed! There was no Global Cooperation. The problem with the COVID-19 virus is that it can sit in the body for 14 days at least after the person is infected. The asymptomatic person is healthy but spreading it. Then, someone with a weakened immune system gets infected. Currently, we in Las Vegas do not have test kits. We are sending samples out of state. The other problem with the virus is the hysteria-hoarding food and cleaning supplies, paranoia. Common sense can help. Good hygiene, eat healthy, get sleep and avoid contact with people especially vulnerable people. If you love your older friends and relatives, call them or Skype them. Leave care packages. Talk to them from a 6' distance if you have to see them. We have idiot healthcare workers visiting friends and relatives who are taking care of suspected Corona virus patients. You can't live in isolation in your house with your family, but, you can say to the ones that you don't live with that, i love you and i will see you when this is contained.

And even in a mutant protein, only one antigenic determinant changes, the others remain. Therefore, the same vaccine can work against different strains, except that its effectiveness may turn out to be slightly (in the worst case, 5-10%) less for mutant strains.
