I am using a laser-induced fluorescence instrument to monitor the bioaerosol in the indoor environment. I wonder if the skin flake can be detected. Does it have any chemical that can be excited at 280 nm or 350 nm and fluoresce? Thnx!
Fluorophores in skin can be nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), collagen,
elastin, tryptophan, flavins, melanin and porphyrins. The question is which are present in the skin flakes!
