I would like to know if the barnacle Chthamalus montagui Southward, 1976 (Crustacea, Cirripedia) is present in rocky coastal habitats of southern coasts of the Mediterranean, from Algeria to Egypt. I suspect that this species is often confounded with the congeneric Chtamalus stellatus. I attached a picture I found on the internet showing the main morphological differences between the 2 species.
C. Montagui was created in 1976 by Southward. Before this dates it was confused with C stellatus.
This species was indicated in Tunisia and in Algeria (Crisp and et al., 1981). I do not know other data, but it would be very interesting to have recent and more exhaustive ones.

Thanks René-Pierre, I knew that article. I would be curious to know if in Tunisia/Algeria the situation is the same after more than 3 decades and in the other sothern Mediterranean regions.
