Hello fellow researchers and teachers. I would like your perspective an opinions on something please, that was highlighted to me and would like to know if the knowledge of teachers is not first priority then in your opinion - what is?

The way a teacher present the subject matter is very Important. A teacher may have the knowledge but can't deliver the lesson effectively, which means that the learners will not be able to comprehend what he/she is saying. No matter how knowledgeable a teacher may be, pedagogic knowledge is very important.

I would distill this slightly into subject knowledge and pedagogical subject knowledge. Having subject knowledge is one thing, but not having the knowledge to be able to deliver it (ie teach) makes it meaningless in respect of teaching - at best poor pedagogy means that haphazard learning will take place rather than planned (and effective) learning.
That said - both types of knowledge go hand in hand - without having subject knowledge it is hard to develop pedagogical knowledge and know how to be effective at teaching.

A teacher may be knowledgeable in the subject matter but lacks the necessary pedagogic skills to present the subject matter. He/she may not know the appropriate teaching methods and strategies to use. This will surely affect students learning. In fact such a teacher is considered ineffective.
