Hydrostatic forces act to push at walls that are either buried or bermed. Can superadobe withstand the lateral forces at work in a bermed building, or will it need more lateral support such as buttresses etc.
Super Adobe is a technique that uses sand bag like tubes to create tamped adobe layers in an additive building technique. Barbed Wire is used to bond layers together but there still seems to be some tendency for layers to react to lateral forces. Can a building technique make Super Adobe effective for the retaining walls of underground, and bermed dwellings, or is the tendency to slip in a lateral direction a fatal flaw in this building techniques detractors?
