is PEDOT:PSS a direct bandgap material or indirect bandgap material? I am trying to calculate its optical band gap using the Uv-vis method, but it should be known what type of band gap it is. Also, is it necessary to have a smaller band gap if one polymer is more conductive than another one?

I am not a specialist on this material, but we made some experiments on the PEDOT:PSS materials with X-ray standing waves (Macromolecules 45 (2012) 3487) and I remember from the discussion with my cooperation partners that the properties of the prepared films (i.e. conductivity, optical reflectivity/transmission etc) strongly depend on the composition (i.e. the amount of PEDOT AND PSS), and thus I think that your question cannot so easily be answered!
