Hi, I am thinking of beliefs especially religious beliefs as an important element to individuals' neurological health because it does impact the health of the neurological system, especially the brain-mind connection. I hope it be opened for study soon.

Am also in agreement with your observation that ill thoughts and moods do create an ill brain, i.e. the spiritual (mental), theological (science of G-d) and religious (human behavioral ethics) components cannot be excluded from serious neurological research approaches. Nature is surely spiritual, but the spirit is not only natural. Wishing you success with your presentation !

I explained in my psychology books, specially in COVID-19 psychology, I explained faith, the belief system, a) for the fear actor, b) bereavements. Faith is the greatest strength 🙏 n coping mechanism.

Overall, the faith or religion comes in again in socio-psychology psychology, of in the development of personality or characteristics that in individuals personality, factor of the society makes am individual where faith, the religion and or custom forms ones psychology.

Since cases of mental illness are noticed daily in hospitals, therefore,I am of the opinion that it should be considered as a public health issue.

I think that neurology is a priority for the scientific community, but in many places it is not a priority in public policy, of course, there are good exceptions. Care for the elderly population is also not a priority in many places. Therefore, all initiatives to draw attention to these topics are welcome.

Thanks to whom contributed, we need to see neurological or neuroscience as a piece of the larger complete picture and function of the body and identity (as Madam Fatema Miah stated) of ourselves not just the physical or physiological parts of it: nerves-systems, brain-mind- body, blood vs electricity systems & what they convey for us to our understanding but in unison to the third parties that are being forced to exist forward when two things are combined like spirit+body=lively us in functioning & animating psyche, not just dichotomous duality at clear-cut separated entities of parts of our body, they always work together in harmony unlike us, humans who force knowledge about them from our lense that made us always in enmity, wars, racing competitions, and whatnots. We need to see this synergy and the other way around, to force the way they work within and among us, imitate them to work together in harmony to avoid disaster from our own destructive attitudes actually - almost unknowingly always. In the end, the consequences will be inescapable to all not just to certain people, we live together sharing the same planet like on the same ship, if it sank, we'd sink together, and the probable death and decay for all is sure, anyway.

I would like to share an evidence article that supports what is highlighted by Bruce Lipton in his book: the Biology of Belief, that DNA is not the one that determines us either, it responds to the environments (epigenetic factors):

Even he was talking about the Integral Membrane Proteins (IMPs) of the cell, not the cell per se, which still is able to respond to data from the environment (epigenetic factors) even without its engine (yolk-like) in the middle (Mitochondrial DNA=DNA content of the mitochondrial properties were removed).

How he found it like computer microchips in the circuitry boards with certain programming are very closely related to the neuroscience realm, which is important in understanding human and the impact of what human believes as part of the programming, especially in understanding the enigmatic consciousness, especially with regards to our health. We need to understand also how the data feed from outside us was being understood in a more public-friendly description of science communication for the benefit of all human beings as whatever happened to others will inevitably affect us in one way or another... sooner or later than we are/could be aware of.

When you are talking about Neurology, it's about head and brain, it is the highest priority and concern matter, urgent issue.

Psychology is rather a different issue.

We appreciate your detailed participation despite the developing situation in Sudan, May Allah ease everything and keep your country peaceful, so, people are able to get connected well as I was there before. The Sudanese people have golden hearts, which I am indebted until now for their hospitality then. I went there with my mentor: Prof. Malik Badri to join studying at the University of Gezira but I was unable to be as strong, resilient, and tough like your people at large.

One thing, I feel like unjust for people who are involved in neurology on both ends: end-users and the health care practitioners - for its confined connection with disorders (neurological disorders) only - unlike if we mention: "psychology" it is a vast field that covers almost everything about human life not necessarily meant "psychological disorders" directly and only unless siphons into the word "psychopathology", even today people of the field said now we need to stop using the word "disorder" because it is stigmatizing. So, I think the same is better to be applied to the field of neurology to be free from this stigma and confined in the word: neuropathology for the present meaning of neurology (neurological disorders). Does that sound more agreeable and trendy?

Sorry for joining this discussion late, but if you look at the neurological urological disorders, which include conditions such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis disorders, the key denominator is kinesiology. in other words, uncontrolled, uncoordinated, involuntary movements with adverse health outcomes, these are central to public health,interms of designig modes of transport,motor ways and building codes.

It is OK, we need more awareness like you highlighted, really appreciate that, as patients usually have no academic platform to share their experiences and sufferings for health professionals to listen to them. I saw these uncontrollable scenes in front of my eyes but only after you mentioned it that it relates to me.

Does a similar problem (incontinence) that women usually experience after birth also relates to neurology, Dr William Kala Akobi?

Thank you, Nur, in most hospital set ups, during planning maternity, antenatal and post-natal wards are placed on the first floor, probably nearest to the entrance as including the casualty, but in modern times this is not adhered to owing to existing structures being converted to hospitals, and Yes women suffer a lot, the back still falls on the health professionals' who approve the same during licensing.
