Is nasointestinal intubation and decompression of small bowel intraoperative used: indications, contraindications, complications? Please send references if possible.
In our country still widely used intraoperative intubation of the small intestine in surgery of mechanical intestinal obstruction. As far as I know, this approach is not applied now in Western countries.
If not applied then: 1. why, 2. what replaces nasointestinal intubation in conditions of advanced intestinal obstruction, paralytic obstruction due to peritonitis.
If applied: 1. in which countries, 2. indications, 3. what complications are observed, 4. how many days the nasointestinal probe is held.
