Dear Abu-Hussein Muhamad The picture of this journal “Journal of International Dental and Medical Research” is somewhat mixed. I see numerous red flags:
-The journal is listed in the stand-alone version of the Beall’s list https://beallslist.net/standalone-journals/
-In their indexing info they mention two so-called misleading metrics (https://beallslist.net/misleading-metrics/ ) AE Global Index and IIFS. These are often used by predatory journals/publishers
-It is removed from DOAJ in Januari 22nd, 2016 https://github.com/moqri/academic_journals/blob/master/DOAJ-%20journals%20added%20and%20removed%20-%20Removed.csv
-Unclear what they charge you as APC, here https://www.jidmr.com/journal/author-guidelines/ they say “JIDMR requests a certain amount of APC upon acceptance of the article.” Really?
-At the homepage one of the ‘boxes’ is named archieve
-Papers have no DOI assigned
It is indexed in Scopus https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/19900193275 but not sure whether they will keep this. I noticed that the SCImago link to this journal lacks a homepage link https://www.scimagojr.com/journalsearch.php?q=19900193275&tip=sid&clean=0 This indicates in most cases that the legit and genuine website is unclear to Scopus.
Yes, the Journal of International Dental and Medical Research (JIDMR) is indexed in Scopus. Specifically, it is listed in the Scopus database, with a SJR (SCImago Journal Rank) of 0.253 based on 2020 data, according to Ores.su. The journal is published by the Ectodermal Dysplasia Group-Turkey and focuses on dental and medical research.
I think Scopus should review the criteria of this magazine to see if this is a predator journal or not? For some of the following reasons: 1. Some articles do not have a DOI index 2. The grammar in articles is very bad 3. The magazine's home page is not clear, the domain name may be traded to another owner 4. The quality of reviews is not really good, leading to the time from submission to publication of the article quite quickly. Sincerely thank
Journal of International Dental and Medical Research
