The dominant quantum theory, built around the Schrödinger equation, was primarily concerned with the energy levels and spectral lines of the hydrogen atom.

It was never designed to capture the full complexity of quantum mechanical systems and measurements.

Current theory and practice regarding wavefunction evolution in a 3+1 (R⁴) spacetime are disconnected from physical reality.

The same problem arises in the theory of sound waves in audio rooms.

Aside from the author's theory of sound waves [1,2] , there has been no other theoretical description of the intensity of sound waves in audio rooms or their reverberation time TR since Wallace Sabine's experimental formula a century ago.

We note that the square of the Schrödinger partial differential equation proposed by the author is a Hamiltonian description of a quantum system with an energy density in free space subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions [3,4].

And the author's formula for audio rooms is also a description of a physical system with an energy density subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions.

The two descriptions should be equivalent, and we therefore assume that :

it is true that sound waves can directly interfere with electromagnetic waves.
