Editor's comments:
"We receive almost 1000 articles per year for publication in ..... Journal.
We have a capacity to publish only 80 articles per year.
Hence, we subject all the articles to a screening process and take a decision.
As a result only 100 -120 articles are subjected to full review process.
Rest 880-900 articles are returned to authors to save their precious time.
They can thus submit it to another journal without delay.
We really regret to have conveyed such a decision.
We wish you best of lucks in your publications."
Can these be a proper reason for rejection?
Is it true that some reputed journals reject papers of developing country researchers (specially young researchers) without proper reason?
Reputable journals generally practice double-blind review i.e. reviewers & authors don't know each other (or reviewers don't know the author is from developing country). Journal editors & reviewers usually evaluate, select, review & publish submitted manuscripts based on their contents' own merits / knowledge contribution as well as be able to meet the particular journal objective(s) / guideline(s).
