According to expert opinions, the IT technology virtual reality and augmented reality will be implemented to information services offered on online information portals and in technological applications of online companies. Probably in the near future, virtual reality technology and augmented reality will be one of the main computerized forms of access to the digital world in the future. Adding a digital overlay to reality allows you to create characters and objects that you can design and digitally develop. Digital objects created in this way can be placed in real space as if they really existed, which will probably be used in meeting expectations as to the development of information services in the future.
In view of the above, the current question is: Is IT technology virtual reality and augmented reality already implemented in Internet information services?

I think that companoes lik Sony is working on some kind of video metadata enabled contents. these video providing the user the ability to know more information about the items inside the video (clothes actors wearing, furniture, and so)
I suppose that is the target, but still far away from the real-life massive implementation yet. For example, the data rate required by the VR (8k or even 16k @144 Hz) is so high that barely some existing Wi-Fi technologies can support it smoothly. Yes, developers from big companies use WiGig for delivering such techs, but still many practical technical issues confront us.
Mixed-reality digital applications are a ripe area for research currently, discipline-wide, amongst leading universities. They aren't already implemented but will be in the not too distant future. But what are the benefits to internet information services? Quasi-tangible metadata; digital overlays that will enable us to see different shades and 'dimensions' of data. This is the future for internet information services because more information is more.
Technically, I think Yes. making 3d contents is the most time consuming part.
In my opinion, the Virtual Reality technology will be developed in computer games, simulators of various vehicles, on computerized forecasting analysis platforms, in online presentation systems of specific architectural objects, etc.

The IT technology of virtual reality and augmented reality is already used in the TV media, in advertising spots, in computer games, in science fiction films, etc. online team games, online advertising campaigns on social networks, interactive websites are created containing the presentation of the offer of companies and institutions, etc. so in the future the scale of using IT technology of virtual reality and augmented reality may increase also on the Internet.
