In the past I uploaded several papers on Research Gate as "Working paper", with all accompanying options (publication status, generated DOI, ...). I am currently unable to upload more working papers. When clicking "Add new", the format of working paper disappeared. Instead there are other formats, but these do not offer the same options.
Is it true that the working paper format is no longer available? And if not, how to find it?

I think working paper format has gone as ResearchGate changes the format frequently. You might click on new format and go ahead to see what you can add.
or you might upload as method. But that is not wise to divulge the result before publishing.
I would not like to upload unpublished works, you could discuss your in progress work in the project field
