I would like to see heme distribution during erythropoiesis in cell culture. I've found that benzidine staining and o-dianisidine staining are for hemoglobin. Is there any reagent that can stain heme?
Can you use the visible light absorbance (red color) of heme in an extract of the culture to measure it's amount?
Hello Adam,
Thank you for your advice but I just want to see the location of heme within the cell if it's possible.
You might be able to use the fluorescence technique described here:

Thank you for your kind advice again. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of microscope in my lab : (
