Hi, i just bring a one question. As i said, Is it possible to prove that the cations are complexed in the solution by using UV-visible spectroscopy?
For example, assuming that there are two solutions, first is just cation+solvent and second is cation+complexing agent+solvent. The later one might show those cations are complexed by complexing agent and become a sol state.
So, i want to show the difference between them and the evidence that the cations are fully complexed through the analysis such as UV-visible spectroscopy.
If you have any idea to prove it or you can give me a help, i will appreciate it sincerely.

First of all, i prepared two solutions. First one is combined with three cation-nitrate and D.I. water only(blue graph), and the other one is adding the complexing agent with primary solution.(it is EDTA and citric acid.).

The read line is probably the spectrum of EDTA and citric acid. Neither EDTA nor citric acid form complexes with Na+ or K+. Nitrate has a broad peak at around 380nm
