I want to study the variables that have an effect on protest participation. In order to do that, I have targeted two different groups: the first, people who have taken part in protest demonstrations (protesters), the second, people who have never participated in a protest demonstration (non-protesters).

The data was gathered through a survey, in fact I conducted the same survey to both groups, and the difference lies in the sampling method that I chose for each group. For the group of non-protesters I used a stratified sampling (based on a national census) while for the group or protesters I used a systematic sampling (I surveyed people who were participating at that very moment in a protest event). In this context, where there are two different sampling techniques, my question is, is it possible to merge the data of these two groups in a single data set in order to analyze it?
