I am trying to set up Field Oriented Control of an Interior PM motor in Simulink. The IPM is a self-designed one. The parameters of the motor(Id, Iq, Vd, Vq, Ld, Lq, Flux linkages, Rph, etc.) over the entire operating torque-speed range are already available as look up tables. I noticed from the data values that in high torque region during motoring mode, the current is in 2nd quadrant of dq axis(i.e. Id is -ve and Iq is +ve) but the voltage is in third quadrant(i.e., Vd is -ve and Vq is -ve). Is it possible to have such values in the motoring mode? In the simulink model, i am not able to get a -ve value for reference Vq when the reference current Iq is +ve. How can this be achieved in FOC model?
