As you know hypoxia is considered to be a major feature of the tumor microenvironment and is a potential contributor to the cancer stem cell (CSC) phenotype and its enhanced tumorigenicity.

If you look at this picture:

I have a lot more cells expressing CD44 in hypoxia (CD44) which is normal when I read multiple publications. But for EpCAM is this also the case? I can't seem to find a clear answer.... :(

Could it be like CD44 + / CD24- which would be representative of the phenotype of these CSCs?
