Hi,
I did HNMR analysis on a organometallic complex
[Re(H2O)(CO)3(phen]+ using MeOD-d4 and 15% D2O, I got the peak for MeOD at 3.33pm and I got a peak at 4.67 and a broad peak at 4.97 ppm
Someone said that the peak at 4.67 ppm is MeOH but does someone know why this is the case?

Hi, that peak for sure belongs to the solvents, not sure if MeOD or D2O. Re(I) complexes with phen or another N,N ligand give always peaks around 7-10 ppm

Hi,
That seems high for methanol, but it might be bound methanol, or bound water. You will certainly see free water, so might see bound water as well.
Yeah, I just checked and 4.87 is free water and residual methanol should be at 3.31. The 4.57 might be the methanol hydroxyl or a bound water...
