Hello,

I was wondering if it is feasible/easy to induce a double knockout in mice by employing a strategy that involves crossing two mouse strains, each bearing a tamoxifen-inducible Cre (CreERT2) transgene under the control of distinct promoters?

The aim is to achieve knockout of a specific gene in two different cell populations by subsequently crossing the double heterozygous mice with a mouse carrying the target gene flanked by loxP sites, and administering tamoxifen to timely activate Cre activity.

I hope it is clear.

Thanks a lot for your comments/advice.
