Addition of fibers to HPSCC is possible but it depends on your concrete application. If you are going for liquid retention containers or under water construction or structures where intense loading occurs, addition of fibers is an ideal solution. Here, it has been seen that addition of fibers to a certain percentage and of a particular type like steel fibers with hooked ends do improve split tensile and flexural properties substantially while compressive strength is increased slightly. Also, it does improve durability as the packing is better in fiber reinforced SCC and this helps in resistance against chloride and acid attack. The material of fiber used such as steel, polypropylene(PP), polyvinyl-alchohol(PVA), etc, have an impact on resistance. Steel fiber is not best suited for immersed structural elements while PP might prove better. So depending on the exposed conditions selection of fiber material is paramount.
Adding fibers will have not any significant effect on the durability of concrete which is because of high performance of concrete.Concerning the flexure, strength you will obtain better performance.
