Assuming a TL phosphor have two glow peaks for a particular dopant, is it possible that the two peaks are affected differently with the change in dopant concentration? In one of my experiment, it was observed that the lower temperature peak shows concentration quenching with the increased in dopant concentration but the higher temperature shows kind of like anomalous behavior.
Dear Ritesh-You mean concentration quenching. If so different TL peaks have different characteristics such as height, dose dependence, width, order of kinetics etc. Remember height of the peaks (and their ratios as well if you take) are indicative of concentration of the traps participating in the TL process It may happen that different peaks have different heights and means that type and concentration of traps is different. So concentration quenching may occur at different doping numbers for different peaks. That why few peaks also saturate at lower doses as compared to other peaks in same TL phosphor so is concentration quenching. If you think only from the angle of emission centres, say Dy3+ in CaSO4, it may be misleading or more thought needs to be given.
