teaching general surgery for undergraduate dental students is challenging, as to what extend dental students should know (skill and knowledge) regarding this subject. usually they go in round seeing some relevant cases, but assessment is through written and MCQS only and this is unfair for a clinical subject to be assessed theoretically
A dental student must have more skills than theoretical knowledge about dental surgery, so why not examine this in a OSCE? It will be more work and preparation for you and you will need more personal.
I think this could be a very sucessful way!
We follow OSCE/OSPE for dental students in our curriculum for dental students.
