I have tried to calculate the inconsistency ratio of the expert answer but I found that the CR value is infinite because the RI of 2x2 matrix (according to Saaty) should 0.00. How do I solve it or any suggestions to find the CR value? Thanks in advance
Hi Nadia,
You don't need to calculate CR for 2*2 Matrix. Simply, the concept of CR says if a>b and b>c, then a>c. It means if an expert said "a" is more important the "b" and "b" is more important that "c", then he/she should say "a" is strongly more important than "c".
So when you have two categories/criteria/alternatives that doesn't make sense to calculate CR.

What you say is algebraically correct, it is transitivity, but it may not apply to some aspects of real life.
As I have said many times, AHP is assuming without any proof or support, that what the DM things apply to the real world.
What do you think about this?

I just answered straightforward Nadia’s question regarding CR for 2*2 matrix. And algebraically it’s correct. It has a simple answer as you know.
Regarding the issues with AHP, I can write here an endless list that can be elaborated in another discussion. In the situation when you have DM‘s subjectivity, you’ll have less robustness.

Regarding my question I don't believe that it is a matter of endless discussion.
In a discussion both parties have arguments, you know mine, which is yours?
Just tell me on what axiom or theorem or rationality is based the AHP assumption that what the DM thinks applies to reality, and I will stop asking, again and again, the same question.
I don't think that robustness is related to this, it is related to the sensitivity of a solution.
In my opinion, when you equal DM decision and apply it to a real problem, you are subjecting real life to your own thinking. Do you consider that this is correct? Shouldn't be exactly the opposite?
And the always present question: If another DM gets different results, which of them is applied to reality?
