Recently while reading a few papers, I came across with a fact that " When an assembly formed from non-covalent interactions of nanoscale chiral monomeric units, then there is a non zero angle with respect to the nearest neighbors ". In addition, most of the time this fact eventually leads to the twist of the assembly in the microscopic scale.

When a monomer of the type H2C=C(G)(G') { where G & G' are atoms or groups assuming that the groups do not contain chirality for a simpler explanation} undergoes chain-reaction polymerization, the main chain will contain repeating units of the type ~~~H2C-C*(G)(G')~~~~~~ where the C* being chiral center in all the main chain except at one site (the middle of the chain).
If the resulting polymer is with an isotactic configuration & if G or G' contain bulky group or atom, this will cause a twist of the assembly. In other words, the twist is possible but under certain conditions.
