I intend to use Leininger's sunrise enablers to discover beliefs, values, and meanings about hospital culture (in terms of nurse-patient relationships) and to examine the multiple factors that influence the expressions and meanings of care
patterns and practices in a cancer care setting.
Can i apply the sunrise enablers while viewing the nurses and patients as a single population? I am concerned that the analysis may be affected if they are taken as one population, as their dimensions differ.
I need your suggestions. Thank you
Including nurses and patients would make a nice comparison because, as you said, it would be expected that their perspectives, needs, goals, etc., would be different regarding some aspects of the relationship but similar on others. However, you may want to be mindful of the amount of data that may result with such an inquiry. Good luck.
Me parece , que las enfermeras tienen sus propias creencias y valores en relación al trato con los pacientes, si a eso se le suma la cultura de la institución donde trabajan , seria muy interesante poder ver las coincidencias y desencuentros, no creo que se puedan ver como una sola población , sino en que coinciden o no en el momento de entrar en un situación de enfermería.
