I think that can be attributed to the distinction of the political phenomenon in itself, and even with regard to the methods used in the process of its study, it can be said that it is the other that usually needs integration with the rest of the curricula and theories in order to better understand the complex phenomena.

The problem of International Relations terminology due to its vagueness. There is no such IR discipline at all. It is the International Politics that composites all the international behavioral interactions among nation-states. International politics can be tested with a variety of theories.

After several years, the study of international politics is an omnicomprensive discipline, provided with its own theoretical approaches and with its own recognized methodology.

But it is also an area linked to the development of international law, contemporary history and international economy.

Although these three disciplines are also autonomous in their academic and intellectual development, they repeatedly provide new concepts and ideas in the growth and knowledge of international politics.

International relations cannot be understood outside the framework of political science. To demarcate the actions of the State, whether they are in the international, regional or bilateral field, of its internal power and actions, is to make a partial cut of reality.

While it is true that IR accumulates a developed and very sophisticated theoretical background, its methodology is not specific. Finally, it did not change its study or the contributions it could make at all, if one considers that IR is a subdiscipline of political science.

Neither. It is interdependent.

I believe that concepts and methodologies from other disciplines of the social sciences are used because the study and research in international relations are nourished by those disciplines, at least conceptually. Giving up that contribution would damage and notably decrease the rigor of international relations as a discipline.

The concept of IR is dependent on the variable of International Politics. It's not disciplines of the social sciences, rather than inter disciplines. IR has no theories or assumptions. We have to ask what we do mean by INT. Relation ...ist Economic or security or social or trade or what in order to be precisely and defined the concept. IR its a relationship between A and B or A and B with C and more. The reflections of such a relationship impacted only by the parties involved in this relationship only. Here the International Politics as a mutual activated behavior among nations and its reflections impacted only on the globe, this is the difference between IR and International Politics,

It goes back to which 'school of thought' you belong to. As for me, IR is part of Political Science.

No matter your ´school of thought´every concept in IR have its evolution in the broader domain of Political Science. What we classify as IR is nothing but transcending of power-play from the domestic sphere which Political Science is traditionally concerned with to the international sphere. Since we cannot completely map out IR autonomously outside the context of `who gets what, when, how and ultimately why`it therefore means that both in theory and practice IR is nothing but an extended arm of Political Science like a centrifugal mother giving birth to a child after her likeness.

It is dependent, first, politically and epistemically. No other social science is so predominantly dependent on American power and so Eurocentric. On the other hand, it is important that it continues to grow in interdisciplinarity. I understand that it is not good that "International Relations" take a closed disciplinary style. Its decolonization and the creation of concepts, theories and paradigms from our struggles and realities is key.

It depends how you look at IR. It is an interdisciplinary subject which discuss issue broader than states. The theories, issues and methodology are limited to IR. If we talk independency of disciplines then Political Science is also a sub-discipline of Philosophy and sometimes Economics.
