If you are talking about the the literature review for writing an article, this would not be an appropriate framework. Instead, you should use your literature review to relate your research purpose to the larger goals in the field. This will demonstrate your understanding of what it would take to advance that field. In this case, a detailed cite-by-cite review would almost certainly annoy the reviewers.
In contrast, if you are talking about writing a thesis, then your examiners may well expect you to demonstrate your knowledge of the field with this kind of rather mechanical recitation of previous studies. Personally, I think that kind of mastery should be demonstrated in course work and exams, and should be a condition for moving to the thesis stage, rather than something that would be incorporated into the thesis itself.

A literature review should address each of the concepts and theories that readers need to understandin order to evaluate your methodology and analyze your results and discussion.
