Dear colleagues, does anyone use COSMOSIL Direct Cartridge Holder (ID 4,6 mm, Product No 19989-71). Should I use wrenches to tighten holder to COSMOSIL analytical column (ID 4,6 mm) or it is hand-tigten only to connect with column?

(1) Most STEEL end-fittings require tools to tighten and this particular high-pressure cartridge holder is no exception. Please use two correctly sized wrenches to open and close the cartridge holder, tightening the fittings enough to make a good seal under the high pressures used. (2) For attachment of the cartridge holder to YOUR HPLC column, it may or may not require wrenches. This depends on the type of tubing AND/OR fitting type you have selected to make this connection with (these are not "standardized" as many options exist). If you are using a one or two piece "fingertight" fitting to make one or both connections, then after bottoming out the tubing in the fitting, only hand-tightening is needed. If you are using STEEL fittings (nuts.ferrules), then a wrench will probably be needed to swage the fittings onto the tubing and make the connections.
