Constructivism is a position on the ontological status of objects (broadly construed); it claims that certain objects don’t exist independently of minds but are constructed or invented by the mind rather than discovered. A related possible epistemological view might be that we don’t have direct access to external reality but only to our own constructions, so all our knowledge is of constructions in some sense.

No. Empirical research can relate to both. In fact empiricism is the epistemological view that the foundation of our knowledge is sensory experience, but it can either regard such experience as evidence for independently existing objects or not, either of which would be to combine empiricism with an ontological view. Early Logical Positivism (a.k.a. Logical Empiricism) tended to regard an ontology of independently existing objects as undesirable metaphysics in that they regarded cognitively meaningful statements about the world as equivalent to statements about their conditions of verification (e.g. observations). Some critics might say they illegitimately conflated metaphysics (which includes ontology) with epistemology.

Normative research can involve ontology as well as epistemology. Moral realists might claim that values aren’t entirely mind-dependent, which is an ontological position. How we can know what the moral truths are is a key epistemological problem.

Ontology is an inquiry to the nature and epistemology is an enquiry to the conduct of the phenomena. Suppose you are thinking of the "opportunity" concept. You may say the opportunity is an object in the environment or consider it as a subject of mind construction. In fact, such a construction is about knowing the nature of "opportunity" concept. So it is an ontological standpoint.

Part 2: both ontology and epistemology are needed to shed light on our understanding of the phenomena. It is not relevant to relate a method to either epistemology or ontology. Both are needed. To repeat again, ontology talks about the nature and epistemology talks about the conduct of a phenomenon. In case of empiricism, ontology sheds light on the nature of the empiricism as a school which considers a positive and realistic approach to the phenomena. the epistemology talks about how it works.

The Webster's Universal Dictionary and Thesaurus describes:

Ontology: The logic of pure being or reality (metaphysics)

Epistemology: The science of the processes and grounds of knowlegde

I think these definitions are in agreement with your point of view.

I'm wondering what the logic is within the ontology.

I see logic as a particular phenomena which is debatable which means that ontology is a particular issue aswell.

Furthermore, I do not deal with metatphysics (religion, ehtics, etc) but I try to focus on analytic phylosofical analysis to catch up with the "digital era" .
