Is citation count a good indicator of a paper’s/book's importance? even not a peer-reviewed paper/book.
Or citation count is not a perfect metric, especially for very recent work? I think that the number of citations means that the paper/book has made a significant contribution in the field and is probably worth reading.

Yes .. the more it get cited the more the work suits current scenario
In my opinion, the citation is one of the indicators, not all of them, but it is misleading as a measure. It can not currently include the Arab scientific production written in Arabic, especially the scientific production of the social and human sciences and the experience of establishing some Arab containers.

Je pense que le nombre de citations est un bon indicateur de l'importance d'un article/livre dans l'enrichissement de la réflexion scientifique. Mais _ et ce Mais est important _ à condition que l'on ne pratique pas l'auto-citation et aussi que l'on ne s'arrange pas avec ses collègues et amis dans le "cite-moi et je te cite". Cela veut dire en clair que si l'éthique est préservée, le nombre de citations est un bon indicateur de la valeur scientifique d'une contribution, que ce soit sous forme d'article ou de livre.
Absolutely, it has to be good or the only available research on a particular topic for it to be cited, so I can say citation is an indicator of importance.

Citations are like dessert after dinner, i simple words citation count shows the quality of your work.
1) Oui les citations montrent la qualité du travail, mais encore faut-il se demander qui cite qui et pourquoi;
2) D'autre part, il faut aussi se poser des questions sur la quantité de travaux réalisés et publiés en arabe par des chercheurs arabes mais qui ne trouvent presque pas de place dans les réseaux de circulation des idées en dehors du monde arabe... Ainsi la réalité plus on l'analyse plus elle révèle sa complexité et sa complexification.

Citations are necessary but not sufficient. The manner in which the author used the citations to give a context to the existing problem and a comparison of how the current research is different from or enhances or complements prior work is also equally important.

Some authors have a lot of citation but they are not in none article corresponding author. What about that?
Not sure. It depends on what do we expect and what we see under the term ''impact''. I heard one Rector from Germany who told something like: We don't care about citations. For us it is more important to make something and to see is it really working, working in the real world, not only on the paper.
only citation count is not enough to judge the quality and importance of an article... but comparative citation count provide us the idea "what was/is the main focus of research during a specific period"
As indicated by my purpose of perspectives, yes. because citation depends on quality of works and number of workers in your field therefore, it represent your work is important.
