Is anybody familiar with this assessment? I'm looking to find connections between problem solving style and various executive functions. I'm looking for some hypotheses to test. A specific one that I am curious about is working memory and style.
You can use several problem solving profiles questionnaires (e.g. Puccio,G. J., Murdock, M. C., & Mance, M. (2005). Current developments in creative problem solving for organizations: A focus on thinking skills and styles. The Korean Journal of Thinking & Problem Solving, 15, 43-76; Basadur, M.S. and Gelade, G. (2003). Using the creative problem solving profile (CPSP) for diagnosing and solving real-world problems. Emergence: Journal of Complexity Issues in Organizations and Management. Vol. 5 (3), 22-47
I am sorry but I am not familiar with clinical uses of PS profiles, which are more common with gifted pupils. Nevertheless try these references:
Schack, G. D. (1993). Effects of a creative problem-solving curriculum on students of varying ability levels. Gifted Child Quarterly, 37, (1), 32-38.
Jaben, T. H. (1979). The impact of creativity training on learning disabled students' creative thinking abilities and problem solving skills. Unpublished master’s thesis. University of Kansas.
Sullivan, T. (1969). Developing problem-solving ability in slow learning elementary students. Journal of Creative Behavior, 3, 284-290.
Fernando thank you for your response. I will search the materials for relevant information. Do you know if there is a good logical reasoning test for individuals with intellectual disabilities?
