I have a dataset for a mark-recapture study involving salmon carcasses. This data includes the dates the carcass was marked and the dates that the carcass was recaptured.
I am trying to estimate salmon escapement and population sizes using this data. Is anyone familiar with mar-recapture analysis involving salmon carcasses?

Hello John; I think I see a problem for your project with one of the assumptions of the Linclon-Peterson method. The basic assumption is that once marked individuals are released, they will become randomly dispersed into the general population. Is that a valid assumption for dead individuals?
