there are very few articles on this species and the grey literature is quite limited too except for the fisheries data. But we have published an article on its genetic structure in the North Atlantic, including some samples from Canada, Maine and Greenland.
Here is the link: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/262698568_Genetic_structure_of_the_lumpfish_Cyclopterus_lumpus_across_the_North_Atlantic
hope this helps.

Article Genetic structure of the lumpfish Cyclopterus lumpus across ...
Hi, I work on lumpfish in Norway. We are trying to set up a working group with a few other participants from the Nordic countries (Iceland, Denmark- Greenland, Sweden, and the Faroe islands). Also have a look here:
We regularely conduct investigations of this species in the Barents Sea at PINRO. Some article were published (mainly in Russian). One PhD thesis was prepared 1-2 years ago by Sergey Rusyaev. And a monography on lumpfish was published by Oksna Kudriavtseva (Murmansk Marine Biological Institute).appr. 5-7 years ago. If you need I can try to prepare the list of Russian publications on this fish.
I undertake long-term monthly sampling in the Bristol Channel, England. Cyclopterus lumpus is one of the species I have been sampling monthly for the last 35 years. In recent years it has become less common, but I am hopeful now we are entering a cooling phase in seawater temperatures that numbers will pick up.
We also observe its breeding along the south coast of England because during the lowest spring tides in spring when the large females are exposed on the lower shore in pools because they will not leave their eggs.
We have found very little on maturity of lumpfish. We do have some data from Canadian surveys but the L50s from those data are lower than the "conventional wisdom". I anyone doing work on maturity?
