I was wondering if anyone is aware of new works done on variable electromotive-force (flux) generators for hybrid vehicles. I have worked on the attached paper which is mechanical approach in adjusting the flux to increase the efficiency and operational range. However, I am just aware of one company working on this concept. I would appreciate it if anyone could share similar works with me.
Note: I have seen similar works on PM generators. But, they mostly have used a different approach.

Here is more references that might be of your and others interest. Mostly are on PM generators though. The last one is similar to my research. Let me know how you think about these articles.
The problem is that those type of motors induce a lot of moment discontinuity leading to a certain roughness. Try compact dynamics. They are working on such type of motors. But everybody in the automotive world is using induction or permanent magnet motors.
