I live in Illinois, in the United States.
All the strain libraries I have contacted have rejected me, as I am not a part of a university or business.
The strains I want to work with are all non-pathogenic - I am primarily interested in fermentation and unique metabolic activities. I have my own laboratory and the full capacity to maintain and preserve cultures.
I am hopeful that there might be another way, though I understand if nothing can be done.

Hello, you can find selling options and requirements in seller webpage. You should have at lest business address to able to buy non pathogenic, and laboratory with BSL level to by conditionally pathogenic or pathogenic microorganisms.
Phil Geis - I believe they told me the same thing as the other strain banks, which is that they are well regulated and prohibited from selling to independents.
I believe I will have to continue working to isolate the organisms for myself. Maybe it is better this way...

- Actually, the German link you provided has a strain that is of interest (S. pombe), thank you very much for sharing! It is so hard to find banks selling pombe strains... Many of the yeasts I'm studying, like pombe, are atypical (non Saccharomyces type), which is why I am having trouble.I think CCY falls into the "business and university only" selling groups.
I finally found a bank that will sell to independents - UC Davis will oblige, if anyone else is interested in knowing.
