I agree that you should make sure they are not predatory journals. There are three or more websites out there that track predatory journals, so it is not too hard to find out.

If you think you have the time and skills to do it and it's something that you would be interested in then go ahead.

There is no harm in considering, as these journals put your details on their website, ask you to promote the journal and review a few papers based on your wish.

Today we have seen an alarming development in the so-called predatory journals. Most of these journals /publishers are in fact business oriented. They accept as many papers as possible without any genuine concern for content and completely outside their stated scope. The old slogan “Publish or perish” drive some researchers to pay even more than 1000 USD “processing charges” to have their article published. I have received dozens of invitations to become in editorial boards of these journals but I declined. The reason they try to include so many researchers from different countries in attempt that he /she publish in their journal and to encourage their colleague to do so.

I also have been receiving these kind of invitations but I have refused their invitations.

There is nothing wrong in joining the editorial board provided the journal is a reputed one and you can dedicate time from your academic & clinical schedule to do justice to the work assigned

Sir you have to google that journal and confirm it that is it exist or not after that you should join it

Please ensure that they are not predatory Journals. Check if the Journals are properly indexed before accepting to serve as one of the editorial board member

Most of the journals that are sending invitation to join the Editorial board are predatory journals.

Paying attention to such fake journals only defame your academic reputation, and lower the quality of your research outcomes. In other cases, you may receive a message in R.G. in which you are invited to participate in the writing of an academic record. In such cases, I highly recommend researchers to get in touch with those people who sent invitation letter through their academic emails to be assure about the correctness of that message or R.G. account. Simply ignore all of them. They are all fake journals.

I have received dozen of invitations to join the editorial boards of dental journals, which I declined. Almost all the journals are predatory. Once one accept the invitation, the journal will ask you to submit any paper with publishing charges range from 300 US dollars to even more than 1000 dollars!!

I think that you should not trust such proposals, since no serious magazine will offer participation in the editorial Board without recommendations and CV. It is better to ignore, or if you have free time, check the correct indexing of the logs and make sure it interests you.

I recommend to inspect the journal to recognize the journal if it is in the predatory list. In addition, new journals appear from time to time and these journals need a lot of support. Moreover, a position of Editorial Board Member (EBM) is not forever since the list of EBMs need to be updated over time. I hope this answer will help.
