Dear all colleagues,

I submitted a manuscript concerning species distribution model using Maxent algorithm. I received a comment on the interpretation of response curves that made me confused.

The comment:

"If response curves obtained directly from the MaxEnt output (either ENMeval or dismo package), they should be univariate response curves. It does not in any way indicate occurrence probability across an elevation gradient. A separate analysis is required for that."

Can you, experts, give me any hints for righly understanding the response curves in Maxent model? Thank you very much.

Note: "Elevation" in the comment is one of variables used my model.
