What is the interaction property to be assigned between tunnel lining and soil in Abaqus? There is a paper which discusses about interaction between soil and shortcrete and then shortcrete and lining. What will be the interaction if shortcrete is neglected and just lining is considered in analysis
In tunnel, there are 2 cases for which closed form solutions are available in literature for Psudeostatic analysis,
1.No slip
2.Full slip
But we now, interface is always in between these 2 cases.
If you want to allow slip between soil and tunnel, you have to select "Interaction", properties, there is option of "Tangential Behaviour", Coulomb's law 2/3tan (phi) is mostly used to assign this value. If you also want to allow separation, then use "Normal Behaviour" attribute.
