Our intan amplifier boards, 32 channels, keep malfunctioning after a relatively short time without any overt damage. Intan tells us the problem is rare, it is not, other groups at our university have the same issue. Most likely it is because of the torque forces that cause tiny fractures in the nano-connector leading to lost connectivity. At least that is what intan tells us.
Does anybody have the same experience?
Does anybody know how to prevent this?

We've had some issues with RHD2164 64-channel boards in the past, mainly due to broken/loose omnetics connectors.
One of these damaged boards had a loose connector (32-channel to EIB) caused by misaligned EIB connectors. Over time, due to the constant pressure on the board connector, it became loose. We managed to fix this board, which now is used for tests and as a last resource spare. Recently a second board started to show signs of the same faulty connection at the omnetics connector. Keep in mind that these boards have been used for many hours on various animals over the last ~3 years(?).
Another one got damaged at the 12-channel omnetics connector (to SPI cable) after mishandling, probably due to the use of excessive force when connecting the y-shaped adapter + SPI cable. We've been able to minimize this by isolating the boards from the cable forces.

Power surge or overheat can damage this fragile board, I would suggest build cooling system and power protection circuits ...
