I am an architect. Suppose I am going to design a beautiful and unique restaurant area for you so that you can eat a delicious meal next to the beautiful restaurant area. What is the most ideal area and space that you are considering?
It is an interesting question... I am also an architect, and I agree with N. Salingaros that a well-designed space must offer psychological "reassurance" to us. In his book "Desing Patterns and Living Architecture," you can find more related information about this theme. In his book, he pointed out an interesting example of "Spaces that reassure our body," citing the interior of the Café Landtmann in Vienna, a favorite hangout place for people like Gustav Mahler and Sigmund Freud.
As space designers, the perception of "healing spaces" is relevant... Sometimes, it is good to ask ourselves, "Where was a place where we felt great? What spatial features does that place have that make us feel great? And the best answer comes out...
Thank you for your answer and guidance. Yes, you made a good point, but I would like designers and all of them to present their own opinions and views on this question. It is a kind of design with people in mind. I will definitely refer to his book again.
Restaurants, in my opinion, can provide a variety of services and contexts depending on their features and location. For instance, in the downtown area, people tend to gravitate toward the cheapest and most accessible restaurants, or occasionally they seek out a quiet restaurant remote from the bustle and noise of the city center. However, they might be more individualized in every way if the restaurant is situated in a certain building, skyscraper, or suburb. Therefore, its design and decoration must consider its intended market and setting.
As an architect and Interior designer we should think like visitors expectations so the ambiance should be very peaceful and soothing which could be created by dining space overlooking to well landscaped courtyard having trees ,a waterbody like cascade or lotus pond, flowerbeds ,well maintained shrubs and grass mounds etc. along with indoor plants and fountains within the space.
Thank you for your answer and for the time you spent on it. Can you also send the images corresponding to your answer to understand your vision of the question in a visual way?
