I met several people in the last period, almost all of them without a face mask or shield, when I'm asked them why? they said we already infected and cured now, so why we should follow restricted precautions?
I observed that the previously infected individuals did not follow the health care precautions. This is a big mistake since the recurrent infection is possible and it is more dangerous than the first one. in simple words: Ignorance is a disease in itself.
As there is no convincing evidence of long lasting immunity following infection with SARS-CoV2 , so reinfection with Covid-19 is a real possibility. Therefore, it is assumed that patients with Covid-19 follow the necessary precautions to prevent reinfection with Covid-19. However, some laxity in practicing such preventive measures may occur.
In my opinion, people who contract the Coronavirus and recover from the disease most often do not follow preventive precautions, and even during infection, there are many people who are infected and positive for the virus, but they carry very slight symptoms so they do not care and do not isolate themselves and do not wear masks considering that the symptoms they have slight although sometimes those persons may transmit the virus to other people who have real risk factors such as having chronic diseases or being elderly or other risk factors that increase the likelihood of developing severe symptoms of the disease, and despite there are many global reports that indicate the possibility of re-infection with the disease, and the second infection may be more dangerous than the first, but with great regret, especially in our developing countries, we deal the virus by ignoring it, unfortunately.
i totally agree with Dr Yasser Fakri Mustafa , most of those that have been infected do not follow the infection control regulations of social distance , hand hygiene and the wearing of masks, I suppose that they think that they are immune to the disease since they have had it, but the possibility of their reinfection is very high
Actually I am Covid recover person. got infected on 15 September recover on 26 September. till date am following the SOP said by government using mask and avoiding crowded people. After fighting with virus my immune system may be weak now so need to give extra care than other people.
The person who has been cured after being infected by COVID has developed a false perception of immune to re-infection of COVID due to lack of awareness and proper guidelines implementation, eventually this has beena threat for elderly and comorbid patients. Proper guidelines implementation is a must.
I think that the individual behaviour regarding the pandemic is strongly linked to education provided by the local institutions. It also may different from country to country.
But generally I think younger individuals (middle 20) are not so strictly following the precautions against a reinfection, because they believe that they cannot be affected as hard as older people would be.
Older people at more afraid of having very sever symptoms, compared to the younger population.
It has been demonstrated (with the genetic profile of the second infecting virus) that a patient can be reinfected, and it is not clear in which extend since Dengue virus re-infection is more severe than the first one and the third re-infection is even worst (with a most severe deadly outcome). It appears further that SARS-CoV-2 is partially destrying the immunitarian defense, so more challenges of the virus corresponds to a more critic defense reaction.
may be the problem is less important in the western country especially with an institutional support and open resourced education, but here in the middle east even people with severe experience showed low level of precaution Hermann Gruenwald
Regardless of the alleged media hype, it's part of our responsibilities to follow non pharmaceutical precautions for preventing the spread of COVID 19. For one's self and for the sake of others.
While there are still many issues that are not fully known about Covid 19, it is too bad that infected peoples are relax. These people set a bad example for society in terms of protective measures.
Oh! NO. Most of outpatients with mild COVID-19 ignor or forget to participate activley in protections and precautions! They mostly think they are immune and behave risky! Others may mimic them!
You made a great point. We should be alert all the time, as the most difficult phase of this pandemic might still be ahead:

If a person is already recovered from COVID-19 once, can be re-infected again. As the neutralizing antibodies generated only last for 3-4 months maximally.
Moreover, cases of re-infection have been reported .
It is mandatory to follow the preventive measures in any case in the epidemic areas.
The infected person should follow the guidelines as prescribed by WHO strictly due to chance of reinfection -https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(20)30764-7/fulltext
It is very vital for a recovered patient of COVID-19 to follow the precautions and remain safe and sound, as the immunity which he has developed lasts only for a period of three to four months and he may again have a chance of getting reinfected.
I think everyone is in agreement on the fact that the HCWs, who had been infected with Covid-19, need to follow the full precautions not only to avoid reinfection but also to prevent acting as a transmission channel in transmitting the infection to others around them. But general observation is that many of them start becoming careless in adhering to the precautions as there is a common thought process that they are now immune. Even some health facilities also start posting such HCWs to Covid areas more frequently thinking that they may not be needing full precautions as well as quarantine leaves because of their immune status.
Unfortunately, many people in South America consider that because they have already been infected with COVID-19, they no longer have to take care of themselves. Well, they consider that they cannot be reinfected. This is a very common wrong procedure.
unfortunately, there are many uneducated people that even do not believe in the existence of the disease! Therefore, we can not see people who all of them are complying with the health rules even after getting infected with the disease.
Face masks are critically important. Otherwise, staying without one predisposes you to the risks of reinfection and the complications that come along with COVID.
Unfortunately , I have seen some of the previously infected person with Covid 19 did not follow the right procedure of preventative recommended measures., especially warning masks
Yes , they must take precautions. Some of the cases were identified for reinfection.
Many of them were suffering from the side effect of Remdesivir. Lung infection, kidney failure is the major issue. Many casualties occured after the complete treatment.
So it's mandatory that they must follow the instructions for themselves as well as for others.
thank you so much for your kind contribution dear Vikram P. Bhalekar that is the point and we should always take the risk of reinfection in considerations otherwise we should prepare ourselves to tough second wave
After recovery also the covid-19 infected person should strictly follow all the precautions. Recently I have read in one article that the antibody may remains in the infected person around 90 days. This will depends upon the persons health condition as well as age. There is full chance of getting the infection once again. Therefore protect themselves and also protect our society.
Unfortunately, people don't realize or accept the risk of re-infection. These practices need strict norms. Our national guidelines recently stressed on following these standard PPE, mask, sanitizer, physical distancing and other protocols
Dear Laith G. Shareef I believe they are the cluster for super spreaders especially if they are below 60 years old. For that we put a paper that advise on an intelligent system since the beginning of the pandemic.

As far as I can tell from the Internet it is important for an infected person to wear a mask. A mask protects others from the mask wearer more than it protects the mask wearer from others. If you become infected then quarantine (like a Badger head coach or football player) and wear the mask when you come out of quarantine. Persons that have been infected can shed virus even when they are symptom free. While they may have developed antibodies against the virus during their infection, they should still wear a mask, because, the possibility of re-infection indicates that their antibody protection is not absolute, and their previous infection indicates that they have virus to shed. Antibody treatment is more effective if the person that receives the antibody wears a mask. Face masks are more effective than face shields. Social distancing is still necessary when wearing a mask (two yards for a Badger).
thank you so much for your kind contribution dear Pranav Ish that is the point and we should always take the risk of reinfection in considerations otherwise we should prepare ourselves to tough second wave
It is a good question for the current generation. I agree with most respondents.
As a scientist, you must consider all the facts. It has been shown and proven that COVID 19 does NOT confer Herd immunity and the humoral immunity of the towards the virus is weak so far. So the level of antibodies against Covid 19 disappears within 2 months following the recovery from the infection. This will be true for vaccination, if and when it occurs. Usually, the body needs multiple booster injections before immunity can be achieved and it seems that Covid 19 is more infectious than other viruses. Therefore I will advice all those who recovered will take the utmost precautions so that not to infect them selves again.
I beg to differ in this perspective. Precisely, there are many more strains that just one. Cured persons possess antibodies against that one spike protein, but other may reinfect. My parents have suffered from COVID and still, they're in protection. I believe everyone should follow this.
I have recently worked on this paper which tells about D614G protein. It may be suitable in this regard. Hope everything is fine at your end.
