Hi Luca.. I am always biased to the clean solutions (Solid state Chemistry). If I were you I shall choose the thermal decomposition of the ammonium heptamolybdate in a crucible by heating at 250-300 oC. You will get pure MoO3.. regards
Thank you for the answer Mr.Barbooti; but i've already obtained MoO3 from that route (i was just wondering if it was possible with a precipitation method).
dear luca, In simple precipitation method you ll get molybdenum oxide. Step1: Disolve AHM in water as per your mole concentration, Step2: After dissolving, add HCL or HNO3 to precipitate (PH value -1), Step3: the precipitation is molybdic acid so you have to do heat treatment to get molybdenum oxide
