We are reviewing our models of clinical supervision, in particular the Preceptor Role. Over the years there has been many discussions regarding recognising and rewarding preceptors. Some health services pay their preceptors an additional allowance for the time involved- this has been met with many challenges; others supported study leave and /or conference fees, others supported regular Preceptor forums/meetings/social events. Given budget constraints in particular for study leave how do or do other health services recognise and reward Preceptors?
