Can you also mention the problem that you are facing? Is the seed you are using will grow in uni-direction or multi-direction?

I will recommend to look after the following factors;

a) the effect of string. If it facilitates the nucleation, you might never be able to grow a single crystal from the seed since multiple nuclei will already form.

b) loading the seed in the solution also requires caution for supersaturated solution

c) solution thermodynamics
