In joints of precast concrete bridge segments, what are the functions of applying epoxy adhesive?
Epoxy is applied in the joints of concrete bridge segments to protect the pre-stressing tendons by sealing the joint. Secondly, to reduce the stress concentration by smoothing the irregularities/roughness at the joints.
