Illumination source has mainly to create excitons in the catalyst, hence mainly depends on the region of its band gap energy (hv>= Eg). I want to confirm whether if the absorption regions of the dye and catalyst are in different regions (UV and Visible respectively) of solar spectrum, does it effects the catalytic activity if we use visible alone and UV-visible together?

Does selection of illumination source in that case affects the catalytic activity?
