In Cymose inflorescence, what is the reason behind flowering order according to physiological action?

Flowering pattern of flower- First is terminal flower, second-right of its terminal, and third and final is left of its terminal eg: Jasminum species. can anyone suggest me why it happening like this? how it is be right flower is second flowering, or second flowering is in right side?
